MISSION
At Desta, we seek to connect our community of coffee lovers through our delicious coffee roasted right here in Canada.
Our goal is to leave everyone with a smile after one sip of our coffee, which is what led to the inspiration of our name, ‘Desta’. Desta derives from one of the many languages spoken in Ethiopia – Amharic, meaning happy. With Ethiopia being the birthplace of coffee, it only makes sense for our name to commemorate that.

For coffee lovers everywhere, each morning should start off with a nice quality tasting cup of coffee. Starting your mornings with a steaming brew and flavourful aroma can create a space of happiness and overall positivity that continues throughout the rest of your day, after all, it’s what’s in the cup that matters. At Desta, we aim to inspire positivity and wellness through our coffee.
Our goal is to reframe thoughts behind coffee, rather than viewing coffee as just a buzz stimulant, we want to put emphasis on the experience. By drinking coffee with intention and mindfulness, you’re opening yourself up to a personal and nourishing moment that can spill over to other aspects of your life – pun intended.

Our coffee is sourced from the highest grades of 100% Arabica coffee beans. In partnership with an experienced Canadian artisan coffee roaster based in Ottawa, we source only the best quality green beans from around the world. With expert roasters, you’re guaranteed consistency in with each order of coffee.
Coffee’s freshness is a major quality consideration, and we’re proud to say that our coffee beans are freshly roasted to order. We are dedicated to providing full-bodied coffee to serve your preferred palate, whether it be rich, nutty, bold, sweet, or flavourful, we have the coffee for you.

At Desta, we seek to provide our customers with a unique coffee drinking experience. One way we achieve this is with our signature flavoured coffee. Our flavoured coffee is made with the same recipe as our standard coffee, but is finished off by adding delicious flavours to the coffee beans and then packaged for delivery. The coffee’s original signature flavour profile will still remain but includes a subtle hint of Vanilla Hazelnut.
